Dr. Dan Cusator joins the company as Interim Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Cusator holds a Medical Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of California, Irvine. He practiced medicine in a large primary care medical group for 10 years and has led other large multi-specialty independent physician associations (IPA’s) as part of large health systems. Dr. Cusator has worked nationally both as a consultant and senior healthcare executive, to develop and lead clinically integrated networks (CIN’s), physician alignment, and accountable care organizations (ACO’s) working across commercial and Medicare payor types. He has over thirty years’ experience in all models of payment including full-risk capitation, bundled payment, case rates, and incentive-based compensation. He has led initiatives at the national level in revenue cycle management, high performing network development, patient safety, patient experience, and quality outcomes. Dr. Cusator experience includes Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, and Pharmacy Management with esteemed institutions such as the St. Joseph Health System, Providence Health & Services, and Vanguard Health System. Dr. Cusator has held senior leadership roles in each of these organizations and led national clinical care councils that focused on the successful development and implementation of comprehensive care management services across inpatient, outpatient, and community-based settings. Dr. Cusator has spent over twenty years working with hospital-based physicians and primary care physicians to build effective post-acute management programs for Medicare and commercial members.
